In keeping at the safety at the forefront, we are opting to continue virtual rehearsals for our 2020 OCC Summer Session. Knowing there are many factors between singing, social distancing, and space, this seemed like the best option for everyone to feel the most comfortable – there are no membership dues for this session.
We will be working on one song that I have purchased plenty of copies for us all and will email to you as a PDF – One Heart arr. by Ruth Moody (The Wailin’ Jenny’s). Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, June 29th as a full ensemble to greet everyone a part of our virtual summer session, as well as go over music markings, etc. From there, we will have sectional Power-30 Zoom Rehearsals at the following timeframes on Monday night:
6:45 – 7:15 PM: Tenors/Basses
7:20 – 7:50 PM: Sopranos
7:55 – 8:25 PM: Altos
During rehearsals, your microphone will be muted, so you will be the only person to hear your singing. We will look to record (as you are comfortable) via a recording app, and then put a virtual audio choir together on this song, as well as our spring pieces – I will be the only one to hear your specific voice recording of a song, and then mix together in a full ensemble. For an example of what this looks like, scroll to 2 min and 2 sec on our Two Benedictions video (hyperlinked).
Regardless if you want to record, or just join in on the fun of rehearsals and singing together, please consider joining our OCC Family this summer for some singing and choir family – sign up at the following link: https://tinyurl.com/2020OCCVirtualSummer
